Girls Ministries is the Wednesday night club program for girls and young ladies from Kindergarten through grade 12. Nationwide, this Assemblies of God program involves over 174,000 girls and 20,000 clubs. Its goal is to help fulfill the Titus 2 principle of women mentoring young girls. Girls Ministries is similar to Girl Scouts in that the girls work on badges and merits. The one exception is that Girls Ministries maintains a strong Bible emphasis. Girls Ministries at Victory Church is a tool to introduce girls to Jesus Christ and to train them to follow Him. It is a place for girls in the church to invite their friends to meet Jesus, gather with other girls who love God, and to be mentored by a sponsor who cares about them. Daisies Club (Girls – K) The club colors are yellow and white, which stand for light and purity, and their motto is “Daisies tell about Jesus.” Their badges cover such topics as forgiving, helping, obeying, and sharing. This club spans one year and it requires only 9 badges to become an Honor Daisy. Prims Club (Girls, Grades 1 & 2) The club colors are pink and white, which stand for kindness and purity, and their motto is “I will be kind and thoughtful”. Their badges cover such topics as Art, Bible Treasures, Nature, and Creation. Stars Club (Girls, Grades 3 – 5) The club colors are blue and white, which stand for loyalty and purity, and their motto is “I will follow Jesus.” Their badges cover such topics as The Holy Spirit, Cooking, Women of the New Testament, and First Aid. Our Stars classes are divided into three levels. Level 1 is for first year 3rd and 4th grade girls. Level 2 is for 2nd year 4th graders and 1st year 5th graders. Our Level 3 Stars class is reserved for those 5th grade girls who have a minimum number of badges and who plan on completing all of the requirements to become an Honor Star at the end of their 5th grade year. Friends Club (Girls, Grades 6 – 8) This club was developed to specifically meet the spiritual and social needs for this age group. They are no longer children, but young adults. Girls in these grades are experiencing many changes. They are making choices and encountering challenges that they didn’t experience in their earlier years. In Friends Club, girls will find the support and guidance they need to make good choices. The Friends curriculum is discussion oriented and the girls work on charms rather than badges. Their club colors are purple and white, which stand for commitment and purity, and their motto is “We are committed to God.” Charm topics include accountability, attitude, choices, peer pressure, and self-esteem. Girls Only Club (Girls, Grades 9 – 12) 1st and 3rd Sundays “Girls Only” provides a young woman a place to grow in God. Discussion-oriented units include women in ministry, college and career, truth, dating, pro-life vs. pro-choice, and attitude. For more information, visit the National Girls Ministries web site.
