Victory Church believes in the power of studying the Bible. We evaluate what needs there are in our church body and develop Bible studies to match those needs. The following list is the current Bible studies offered at Victory, but this list is continually changing, so check back often. All of these classes are currently available at Victory Church, and are held on the days that they are listed under. COUPLES’ CLASS Mezzanine Room 1 Teachers: Tim & Kelley Blackburn This class provides opportunities to examine relevant issues that affect most couples. We look at practical ways to honor God in relationships; our health, money, talents, etc. We also meet monthly for the purpose of building relationships. Open to all couples. FAITHFUL FAMILIES FLC Room 116 Teachers: Paul & Karen Wallace This class currently is studying the book of Romans, as the writings of the Apostle Paul are covered in the sequence in which they were written to the early church. A discussion format is used, with an emphasis on relating biblical truths to everyday life. We also have various small group meetings in homes, which allow for the building and strengthening, of relationships. All ages welcome. LIVING STONES Portable Building 8 Facilitators: Mike & Delta Ryan This class is committed to building strong foundations in our faith, family, and friendships. In this session, we will study Love and War, The Marriage You've Always Dreamed Of, by Stasi and John Eldredge. This study will dispel the myths of the fairytale marriage and help you find your way to the real love and happiness designed by God. You will learn the balance between male and female perspectives, which leads to harmony. This is another step forward in learning what it is to be a "living stone," and building a strong, spiritual house. This class is geared to married couples in their 20s and 30s. MERGE LIFE CLASS: For Young Adults Prayer Room Facilitators: Merge Staff Did you just meet Jesus? Have you grown up as a Christian? Maybe you are new in town? Are you breathing? You need to be a part of this class. Here, we will teach a broad range of topics relevant to young adults. We will explore what the Bible says about world views, basic doctrine, politics, relationships, and much more. If weekly gatherings are not enough, and you long to go deeper in your walk, then come check out this class! OUR CHRISTIAN HERITAGE Mezzanine Room 8 Teacher: Alan Snyder Developing a Biblical Worldview. As we look at the world through the lens of Romans 12:2, we are told not to be conformed to this world, but, to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Only in that way will we discover the true will of God and know what is good and acceptable to Him. We will study how the worldly view compares with the Christian view. Topics to be included are humanism, evolutionary thought, the influence of Marxism in our society and the church, and how education has changed in America. We also will study God’s Word for His truth and how He wants us to understand, and respond, to those caught up in unbiblical thinking and practices in order to lead them to Christ. All ages welcome. SUCCESSFUL SINGLE MOM'S - New Class - Starts September 5 Mezzanine Room 4 Teacher: Diana Busbin Based on the study by parenting expert, Dr. Kevin Lehman, you will learn positive ways to raise your children, and find fulfillment in your own life as a single parent. Topics include bringing stability to children by getting order in your own life. Whether you are recently a single parent, or it has been years, you are invited to learn together, and be part of a small group designed to meet your needs. SUNDAY LADIES’ BIBLE STUDY - 9 AM - Starts September 12 Mezzanine Room 7 Facilitator: Sarai Mercado Explore the life of the apostle John with the Beth Moore study, "Beloved Disciple." You will experience the depths of John's relationship with Jesus, and see yourself as a modern "beloved disciple." As John experienced the depth of Jesus' love for him, Jesus also wants to lavish the same love on you, His beloved. Workbooks are $16. WALK THROUGH THE BIBLE - New Class - Starts September 5 Mezzanine Room 5 Teachers: Doug & Sandy Roth Join us for an in-depth study of the Bible. One book at a time, we will study God's Word in context, highlighting historical, and cultural perspectives. What do specific words and phrases say and mean? What was the author really communicating to the people of his day? We will begin with the book of Matthew. We will be using various resources to help us apply the Word to everyday circumstances. We are currently studying the book of James. Open to all ages. GOOD NEWS Chapel Teacher: Esther Haas We have great fellowship and inspiring discussion while using relevant A/G-based curriculum from the Gospel Publishing House. We are committed to growing spiritually and developing closer relationships. We also enjoy fun gatherings throughout the year. All ages welcome. LIFE IN THE WORD FLC 107/112 Teachers: Bob & Heather Singleton; Mike & Charlotte Fiddelke If you are looking for a Sunday school class that offers Bible study, lively group discussion, in-home socials and friendship that moves past the superficial, this may be the class for you. Our goal is to grow spiritually and make a difference for Christ in our sphere of influence. If you think Bible study is boring, come and visit and find out how exciting God's Word can be. All ages welcome. LIVING WORD FLC Room 104 Teacher: Greg Robinson As we seek a closer walk with God, we are confronted with many challenges today. Come and join our relevant and dynamic discussions as we arm ourselves for victory through a comprehensive study of the Word of God. If you enjoy a small group setting and lively Bible discussions, this is the class for you. We eagerly explore any topic that leads to your spiritual enrichment and Christian development. Open to all ages. PATHWAYS Mezzanine Room 8 Teacher: Pastor Randy Brock The New Testament is a description of "Spirit-Filled" life. Our quest is taking us on a verse-by-verse tour through the the Pauline Epistles of Romans, and I & II Corinthians. As we explore the path of the early church, we will identify markers of our own journey. We invite you to bring your faith and inquistive mind to the mix. For those looking for fellowship, we gather on the last Sunday of the month at a local restaurant following class. Good folks and good times every week.b (At top of East Hall stairs; room on left. THE WORD FOR ALL AGES Mezzanine Room 1 Teacher: Steve Fettke This class studies specific Bible books, alternating between the Old and New Testaments. The class will be studying 1& 2 Samuel for the fall. We have weekly praise reports, prayer requests, lively discussions, regular socials, and e-mail contacts. Open to all ages. SCRIPTURAL ENRICHMENT FLC Room 116 Teacher: Michael VanDoren Our class includes enlightening Scriptural study on interesting subjects or Bible books. Our objective is to enhance your relationships with God and other people, with in-depth instruction, life application, creative dialogue, and prayer in every class. We also have numerous fellowship opportunities. Weekly e-blast newsletters announce updates, social events, and prayer requests, to remind people to pray for you. EQUIPPING THE SAINTS - (part one) - Starts September 15 Mezzanine Room 1 Teacher: Michael Van Doren The purpose of all ministry is to equip the saints (Eph. 4:11,12). If you took BASE 101--401 and wonder what's next , this is what's next. If you never took 101 -- 401, but want to be used by God, this is what's next. God did not call us to exist, He created us with purpose. This seminar will begin with the Word of God -- how to understand it and use it. We will address these topics: different versions of the Bible; the misuse of Scripture and how to interpret it rightly; how to better apply Scripture to our daily lives; how to use Scripture to minister to others through Bible studies, devotionals, and personal evanglism. He created each of us with purpose and wants to use us. God equips the unequipped and lets His power flow through those who answer His call. He's calling you. GETTING TO KNOW JESUS Mezzanine Room 7 Teacher: Glen Copple This is a new weekly Bible study covering every event in the life and teachings of Jesus from the four Gospels. Getting To Know Jesus is an intimate walk with Jesus Christ though His life and teachings to see what He taught and did. As we study each event in His life, in chronological order, we will learn how to deal with the pressures of this life and be better prepared for spending time in eternity with Him. Workbooks are $15. A hands-on class discussing the fulfillment of the Scriptures that encourage hospitality. You will learn shortcuts to take the stress out of creating events, such as showers, parties, backyard cookouts, casual, and formal dinners. Your confidence will grow with helpful tips from "one who has been there." You can enjoy your own parties. All ages welcome. TOASTMASTERS Mezzanine Room 2 Meets 1st & 3rd Wednesdays each month Lead Teacher: Pieter Rijken Become the speaker and leader you want to be. This Christian-based class will show you how to listen effectively, think on your feet, speak confidently, and learn leadership skills.
